Mount Auburn, IL (March 25, 2013) It’s been a long off-season for Jim Moon and MoonMan Racing and now the time has come to launch their 2013 campaign this weekend, beginning Friday March 29 at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL. From there, Moon and crew will travel to Highland, IL, to compete at the Highland Speedway on Saturday March 30.

“All systems are a go!”, said Jim Moon in a recent phone conversation with one of his sponsors. “We have a brand new Rocket chassis, a new crew-chief and some great sponsors for this season, so we can’t wait to get started this weekend!“, Moon went on to say.

Moon has hired a veteran Late Model crew-chief, Rich Tanner, to help tune the car this year. “Rich brings many years of experience to the table and I am happy to have him onboard with us this season” Moon said.

Jim Moon won the Track Championship last year at Montgomery County Speedway, finished second in points at Belle-Clair Speedway, and finished fifth in points at Quincy Raceway. “The MoonMan” won four feature events and picked up 35 top five finishes en-route to his 13th place finish in UMP National Points during the 2012 season. “Last year was our most successful season ever in a Late Model and I think together, Rich and I can do even better this year!” Moon says.

“The MoonMan” Jim Moon and MoonMan Racing plan to compete weekly for UMP National Points at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL on Friday nights, as well as Highland Speedway in Highland, IL, on Saturday nights, and Quincy Raceway in Quincy, IL, on Sunday nights during the 2013 season.
