COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Double Shot Up Next

Lebanon, Missouri (04/30/19) – With his original plans to race on dirt thwarted by Mother Nature, Tony Jackson Jr. decided to enter a pavement race on Saturday night at I-44 Speedway in his Merrill Self Storage #56 Willard Quarries/ Hassett Truck Body Repair/ Hamke Race Car/ Toyota Late Model.

His decision paid dividends as he raced to his second-straight win at the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval.

“With the rain knocking out the races we had planned to enter, we decided to go pavement racing at I-44 Speedway again on Saturday. We picked right up where we left off there a few weeks ago and got the win in the 100 lapper,” Jackson Jr. said. “The car was really good, and I found my way to the lead around lap 60. Hopefully Mother Nature will play nice this weekend, so that we can go after a couple more dirt wins.”

Ozark Pro Late Model competition brought Tony Jackson Jr. to I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) on Saturday evening. Qualifying positioned him fifth on the grid for 100-lap, main event. Tony progressively worked his way forward through the pack before taking control of the lead just past the halfway mark. From there he cruised to the win, which marked his third overall of the 2019 season.

Cole Williams, Terry Limberopoulos, Jake Piel and Tim Swearengin completed the Top 5.

The upcoming weekend – May 3-4 – has TJR Motorsports set to return to action with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series in Texas and Louisiana. While Tony is technically second in the series standings, he has the most points of any tour member, so he’s tabbed as the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man point leader heading into the doubleheader.

The weekend opens on Friday night with a $3,000-to-win event at Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas). Saturday evening finds the tour at Ark-La-Tex Speedway for the annual Pelican 100, which posts a $4,000 winner’s check.
